Jeez guys. You're acting like this offense will struggle like this all season. Stubbs, Votto, Bruce, Rolen and Phillips...all 5 of them are in a slump. Kinda hard to put together much offense when your 5 bangers are in a slump. They'll get out of it.
I do feel that now is a great time to bring up a rookie bat or two. That youthful exuberance is sometimes just what the doctor ordered to turn a team's attitude around.
Both are inexcusable. On the grade school level.
Perhaps we're looking at things from the wrong side when proposing who the Reds ought to be in the market to "buy"? This is simply not a very good team.

If this team were in the NL East, I'd agree it would be time to sell. However, the Central has two teams that couldn't beat the eight teams playing in Omaha this week.

They definitely will. Then we'll have two or three weeks of offensive production before they shut it down again for a few weeks.
It's been the pattern with this team. Wild ups and downs, and when you're in the middle of one of those swings, you know the other one is right around the corner.
Probably why we're sitting at about .500.
That's what's so weird about it. I see one or two players slump for other teams, but not a whole batch of them like ours do. I just don't see THAT particular trend continuing.
