I used to watch Columbo when it came on NBC as the Muder Mystery Theatre. It shared the spotlight with McMillan and Wife and McLeod,IIRC. Falk was great in that role. He was nominated for an Oscar in his first two movies,Muder, Inc. and Pocket Full of Miracles. That's pretty amazing when you think about it.
About a month ago I bought his autobiography on the bargain book bin at Big Lots. I will have to read it next. R.I.P. Peter Falk Thanks for all the great entertainment.
