Walt needs to read a St. Louis blog article to figure out that the Cardinals are a good team that will be in the race?

    Riveting stuff. Simply riveting.

But they are not a good team right now, they are an injury riddled team that with all that are still in teh race. If they were 100% healthy this race would be over, so yes someone needs to point this out to Walt and say...Excuse me, your team is in 3rd place behind a MASH unit...how can you except that and not be making changes?

Panicking is for losers. I could list off the stuff that's gone wrong for the Reds, too. As injury-plagued and underperforming as the rotation has been, they could easily be ten games back instead of two.
FIRE DUSTY Never mind. The man is clearly a genius.

The Cards are not the only team to encounter difficulties. Lets see:
Cueto and Bailey start the season on the DL.
Bailey hits the DL a second time.
    Rolen has missed significant time.
Gomes was imagineably bad for an extended period of time.
Chapman has been in the minors with a "shoulder ailment".
The Reds get the Yankees and the Red Sox, the Cards get neither.
The Reds got the Indians when they were on fire.

It's a marathon not a sprint and there was no guarentee the Reds would repeat. They still might, they might not.

Berkman has been a life saver. I don't think many people expected that.

The Brewers went for it, knowing Fielder most likely will not return.

The Reds are still deciding (I think) whether they should cash in their minor league chips and go for it or stay patient and try to win with what they've got.

Cueto missed some but has been great since comiing back. Homer is a DL waiting to happen and the Reds know it but continue to stick with the kid.

Rolen should be a role player at this point, to think he can be a key member contribution wise at this point is just silly.

No Gomes is just bad and it's no one but our own fault that he is still on this team. A better choice should have been gotten in teh offseason.

Chapman has been in the minors with a "shoulder ailment".

chapman is a 1 inning guy, our bullpen has been just fine while he has been gone, no huge loss.

The Reds get the Yankees and the Red Sox, the Cards get neither.

And we outscored the Yankees 15-11 in those 3 games, faced a minor league reject and a pitcher who couldn't top 90 in 2 of those 3 games and played their B team in one and yet only won 1
