Some good news in this game: Cozart is now 3-for-4 and has his average back up to .320.

Has anyone with the organization ever commented on why the Bats never seem to play the same guys in the same position with any degree of consistency? It seems like the team is made up of players who are being moved around the diamond constantly. I realize some of that is to get guys in but why have Francisco and Frazier jumping from LF to RF to 3B. Pick a spot and let them get comfy already.

I would imagine it's so they are ready to help at as many positions as possible once/if they are called up. But, I do understand your point. I just think the Reds look at certain guys like Todd Frazier, for example, and think they will never be everyday starter in MLB, but could be good reserves/occasional starters. In the latter role, you need to play multiple defensive spots unless you prove you can really mash at the MLB level.

It seems like 80% of fans are ready to right anyone off who doesn't have immediate success within their first 165 Innings Pitched (or 500 PA's), when it's rare that any player at all has success during that time. It takes 1200 PA's and 300 IP to give a guy time to adjust at the Big League level. A huge number of the players on the Major League roster don't have either of those. That's why Dusty goes with so many aging Veterans. He's trying to sneak in those AB's of younger players and Innings of those younger pitchers.

That said, Cozart should be replacing Renteria, Heisey should be playing every day (and Walt needs to acquire a Veteran Reliever).

I saw him pitch a month or so ago and he was making people look silly.

Corcino gave up two in the seventh before he left, but Dayton rolled, 9-2. Torreyes (.417) and Barnhart (.282) each had three hits, Bowe two. Torreyes also had two SB, but was caught once. Daniel Wolford breezed through the last two innings.

Check this one out. The DSL Reds outhit the Twins today, 8-7 (three for 19-year-old OF Brayan Arias). They had the game's only HR (C Henderson Peralta). They struck out fewer times (11-10). And they lost 13-2.

They had four errors and their pitchers walked 12.

Dan Jensen, the UC guy, struck out 5 in 2.2 IP for Billings, which trails 5-4 in the eighth.

Edit: They changed the box. Jensen fanned 3 in 1.2.

Billings is going into extras, 5-5. Junior Arias has two doubles.
