    6.27.11 v the Rays

    We've got a lineup.

    Lewis 7,
    Phillips 4,
    Votto 3,
    Rolen 5,
    Bruce 9,
    Gomes DH,
    Hernandez 2,
    Stubbs 8,
    Janish 6,
    Leake RHP

    V.

    Jeremy Hellickson, RHP
    7-6, 3.09 ERA

Hellickson took his seventh loss of the season Tuesday in Milwaukee, when he allowed two runs on three hits while walking four in six innings. He is 2-3 with a 2.52 ERA in five starts at Tropicana Field this season.

I hope the Reds pitchers bring their A games because with Hellickson, Price, and Shields going for the Rays, the offense may struggle.

To win this series the Reds really need to win tonight and tomorrow. If you look at the pitching matchup Wednesday afternoon it doesn't look good. Shields vs Volquez.........

It's a joke that MLB has a franchise in Tampa and plays in this stadium...
"In our sundown perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing 'base', a certain game of ball. Let us go forth awhile, and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms, the game of ball is glorious"

The Reds have a terrible habit of giving up runs immediately after they score them on offense.

Leake falling behind the hitters. Man on second, one out.

Now Longoria pops up. Thirteen Reds circle around it. Rolen catches it.

Pop to Janish. Nice job by Leake, who is one of the Reds better starting pitchers.
