I remember listening to this game on the radio. The Dodgers had a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the tenth inning, but the Reds had Kal Daniels on second and Ron Oester on first with one out. Veteran Dodgers SS Bill Russell booted a potential game-ending double play grounder by Tracy Jones to load the bases for player-manager Pete Rose. But Rose lifted himself and sent Tony Perez to the plate to pinch hit, and Doggie delivered a game-winning two-run double.
