Does this organization know its Shakespeare?

"There is a tide in the affairs of men.
    Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
    Or lose our ventures."
    Brutus from Julius Caesar

I read that while looking at your avatar, and imagined Pete Rose reciting the words.

A little class is added to the board. Thanks, Roser.

I'm reminded of what actress and talk-show host Tallulah Bankhead once said --"There have been only two geniuses in the world: Willie Mays and William Shakespeare. But, darling, I think you'd better put Shakespeare first."

It's not widely known, but Shakespeare was a closet Pete Rose fan. How else explain Shakespeare's hidden tribute to the Hit King:

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose,
By any other name would smell as sweet."

Further support of my theory that Shakespeare spent more time at GABP than at Stratford on Avon.

He saw Joey Votto bat and declared, "A hit, a very palpable hit."

He marveled at Brandon Phillips turning a web gem, and observed, "The play's the thing."

And then he heard Marty Brennaman grumbling in the broadcast booth, leading the Bard to conclude "Asses are meant to bear, and so are you."

"Small things make base men proud."

He must have been an early supporter of small ball.
