NL DH for All Star Game

Has it been announced who will be the DH for the Game. I was thinking Votto should get a shot since he is the MVP from last year. This would give him some at bats.

I have a feeling that Berkman might be DHing.

Beltran is the DH. Holliday in LF, Kemp in CF, Berkman in RF. I'm guessing that Bochy didn't want to move one his LFs out of position.

Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Why is there a DH in an NL park? That's not a good precedent.

I guess it must be all DH all the time for the All Star game now. I didn't even think of that when I was doing my voting as to why we were voting for a DH when it would be in Phoenix.

If any game screams for a DH its the all star game. I don't have a problem with it at all for this game.

Correct, starting last year, although only matters this year since last year was in an AL park (Anaheim). It's horrible, one step closer to the DH in the NL.

The DH rule will prevent managers from burning through their lineups and running out of players. Allegedly.

The last thing we need managers to do is utilize strategy, isn't it?

Oh, how I loathe the DH rule.
