Heisey freed. Cozart benched. Must be a career Renteria vs. Carpenter thing?

I know that Tony LaRussa thinks he invented baseball...but two third basemen and no short stop in the starting line-up? That's unorthodox.

You can never have too much Veteran Creaminess in your lineup. Anyone who thinks Dusty doesn't have a thing for veteran players is blind.

Drew Stubbs consistently in the starting lineup says otherwise.

I am not sure there is a creamy alternative to Drew Stubbs. Its Stubbs or Heisey in CF. Both have negative cream ratings.

I like this lineup for the Cardinals. Colby could use a day off in the worst way

I always hate watching Arroyo pitch. I feel like the Cardinals do well against him but having to watch that leg kick for 5 innings bugs the crap out of me, I don't know why but I really don't like it. Kind of like Ryan Dempster and his glove twist.

Let's see...make all the plays...check......3 for 5 with RBI to tie the game....check.....fantastic base running...check....brings a little fire to the lineup...check.....sitting on the bench....WTF?

There is just no consistency with Bake and his logic. I would love to hear why Heisey is hitting 8th and Cozart is on the bench. Why not hit Heisey behind Bruce or even bat him second? But at LEAST he is IN the lineup.......

Renteria should have been DL'ed when he was hit by the pitch last week. The Reds missed a great opportunity to bring up another AAA bat for a tryout.

Of course what is the alternative? If you only have youth that can play centerfield, then, obviously, a young person is gonna play centerfield. I would say something closer to the truth is they let Dusty try Taveras and Patterson and finally Jocketty said enough is enough.

It's a back-to-back Saturday. And who better to thump on than Chris Carpenter.

I think there is a lot of consistency just not what anybody wants.
