That episode was kind a twist in Walt's character for me.

I didn't think he'd hesitate to kill Jesse if he showed any resistance to his plan. I guess it's really not a change, that's where Walt has always been with Jesse, I just thought Walt had progressed onto being willing to kill Jesse.

It's a nice call back though. No matter what they've done to each other how often has Walt or Jesse been the only one standing in the way of the other's demise?

This episode also showed how dark Hank has gotten. Hoping Walt was setting up Jesse to be killed. Willingly sacrificing Jesse's life just so he could he could be the one to put the cuffs on Walt. I think he's taken the step to no longer being the "good guy".

Someone I was chatting with about this made a great point: if you notice, everyone around Walt is sinking to levels they were never willing to sink before. They keep referring to him as the "devil" and making references to "darkness" that allude to Walt through certain camera angles. Think about what the devil is said to do in religion... he corrupts everyone he touches. Look at what those around Walt have done so far this season...

    * Jesse is out for blood in getting revenge on Walt

    * Skyler wanted Jesse killed to ensure he didn't cause trouble for her family

    * Hank was willing to sacrifice Jesse's life if it meant getting evidence on Walt

    * Marie was talking to her therapist about how much she wanted to murder Walt

Walt definitely isn't the only one that has changed. Skyler's own moral compass has fully eroded in support of their lies and she's now willing to kill to defend it. Marie and Hank are now willing to do anything in the name of 'justice.' Jesse is now apparently out for blood.

I don't think Jesse is out for blood. He's out to tarnish Heisenberg's legacy. Could Jesse be crazy enough to publicly confess to being Heisenberg and would Hank go along with it?

Well, Jesse did say he would get Walt where it really hurts. Now outwardly, this would be a threat on his family, but given their conversations about Walt wanting an "empire," you could be right that he's looking to take down Heisenberg's work.

If Jesse were to go back to cooking meth again as "Heisenberg," that would make Walt furious. So from that standpoint, I could see him booting back up and then taking credit for Heisenberg's meth "empire."

Sorry to get off topic, but the past few episodes have made me actually like Marie. I never was a fan of her at all but she's kinda cool in my book now after how she's acted.

Disagree on Hank. He knows what happened to the last guys in the system who had the goods on Walt. Maybe he's not following protocol, but he's still a good guy.

Hank didn't seem to force Jesse to do anything in this episode. But is it safe to say Hank now has the goods on Jesse and can hold that against him if needed?

I don't know manipulating someone to walk into their own death is pretty dark, even if its a junkie/ drug dealer.

Nice. After thinking about that, I do think Jesse's plan is something along those lines. He knows how large Walt's ego is.

I agree it was a shady move but I don't know that Hank has taken a true turn for bad. He has always viewed dealers as scumbags. And it's not like he was hoping for Jesse to die, just made a calculated risk. Hank was correct in that Walt didnt want to kill Jesse anyway. So Hank was just right, not really manipulative.

It's pretty manipulative no matter how you slice it. The fact that Hank doesn't care about Jesse and doesn't care if he dies means he's using him just as Walt used him. Ironically, while Walt used him, Walt actually does care about Jesse (as Hank pointed out).

Whatever Jesse's plan is, it needs to appear to fit with Hank's goal of "winning" and it also has to be something that GOMIE agrees to turn a blind eye toward (or help with), otherwise Jesse wouldn't have returned to Hank and pitched him his "better" plan.

You might've missed something. Right before the commercial break, Hank says it would be even better if Jesse got killed in the exchange. It's pretty messed up.

Hank is a piece of garbage too now if you ask me.
