Alonso, Sappelt and Janish are all 2 for 3.
Edit: Oops, I should finish reading other posts before posting myself. :-)
5-2 Bats as Janish gets his 3rd hit to plate Dorn. Dorn hit a 2-out double off the wall.
In the 7th
Now 5-4 in the 9th as Christiani is having a tough time closing. Sweet goes to get him and Gil will come on.
Braves tie it but a runner is thrown out at 3B.
Going to extras.
Dorn walks and Janish singles to go 4 for 5.
2 on, nobody out. Negron up.
Kris bunts and the throw to 1B is wide.
Dorn scores and the runners move up.
6-5 Bats
Sappelt sac fly.
Score Janish and it's 7-5 Bats.
Cole Green got pounded and Billings trails 5-0 in the fourth. El'Hajj Muhammad is in long relief. Gotta wonder if they'll give him a shot at starting somewhere along the line.
Surprised to see Dayne Read back in Billings after his stint in Bakersfield.
Bats won 7-5.

Nice. Good to see Mesoraco get it going. He's been relatively stagnant for a while.
I agree Mace, that is weird about Read. He was doing just fine in high-A (albeit a small sample size) yet they send him back to rookie ball? I know they don't want to disrupt the chemistry at Dayton, but that's weak. Just leave him at Bakersfield. It's not like they have an abundance of talent.
Too bad Christani is struggling in AAA...I was hoping he would be another option or trade chip out of the bullpen.
A Jared Burton sighting! He started for the AZL Reds tonight: 1 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 HR.
Reds trail 5-0 after three. Lucas O'Rear hasn't fared much better.
So September for Burton a good possibility?
More like mid-August? I dunno lol
