Avery walks the second batter. It is very hot and humid there so James Adkins begins to get loose. Avery has only given up three hits tonight.

3-1 Tennessse lead after Ridling doubles.

I have to wonder about Bells' willingness to run this guy out for this inning in the brutal heat. Avery clealry didn't have anything in this inning. Pitching change.

Middle of seven...Tennessee up 5-2. Mudcats had bases loaded and none out and only got one. Quentin Berry got picked off first when the catcher threw behind him. Perez getting thrown out at third for the third out earlier and this are inexcusable baserunning mistakes that have cost Carolina tonight.

Scott Carroll takes the loss for the Bats. Charlotte takes that one 7-4. Phipps didn't play.

Middle of 8th, Tennesse still leads, 5-2. Donnie Joseph on for the bottom of the 8th.

Muddie, just to let you know, the only things we care about now Mudcat-related are Yasmani Grandal and Neftali Soto. Proceed accordingly.

(Kidding. Thanks for your updates as always.)

Out of eight plate appearances they have combined for three hits. Soto has two strike outs though.

Going to the ninth inning Carolina has left 17 runners on base tonight. David Cook has stranded six himself.
