    Friday 7/29/11 Minor-League Updates

Oh my. The AZL Reds lost 24-4. The Cubs scored 20 runs in the last four innings. Five guys pitched for the Reds, and not one allowed fewer than three runs.

Juan Francisco made a rehab start (DH) and went 3-4 with a 2B.

The AZL Cubs scored 15 runs yesterday, too. Coming into today, no one on their team has more than two home runs this season.

Yeah, I was thinking, whoa, pretty interesting that they would move Phipps into the three-hole. But then, the alternatives have been severely diminished.

    There's Dorn, too, FWIW.

Phipps, Costanzo, Perez, Castro--Carolina West. The scary thing is that Carolina finished the first half of the Southern League season at 23-47.

Denis Phipps is 2-2 and just drove in 2 runs for Louisville. Bats are up 2-0.

Dayton is now in a rain delay. The rain isn't supposed to last long.

Louisville is laying down a whoopin right now, up 8-0 in the 3rd inning. They are still batting. Hermida is 3-3. Valaika is 2-2 with a walk and HR.
