Seems interesting that Phipps is in center with Sappelt in left. It might not necessarily mean that they think Sappelt is the lesser CF, but that they want to acclimate him to LF. My impression of Phipps is that, while he's a very good outfielder, his speed is better suited to the corners, probably RF (because of his great arm).Originally Posted by AWA85
Gil, Fisher and Jordan Smith (save) pitched four scoreless innings in Louisville's 3-2 win.
Carolina fares pretty well when its bullpen holds up. Tonight, Adkins and Gustafson got it done in relief of Kyle McCullough, who went seven strong innings and got the 4-2 win.
Dayton's getting hammered, 9-3, which is what happens when Torreyes goes 0-4 and falls under .400. And when Pat Doyle gives up six runs in 1.1 innings of relief.
Sean Buckley hit a two-out, two-run HR (#10) to win it for Billings in the 11th, 4-2. Tony Cingrani had an excellent four-inning start, and Erik Miller, James Allen and El'Hajj Muhammad were all stout in relief.
Bakersfield lost uneventfully.
