Need an "all of above", cant single it down to one out of that list, all of them have hit us in many ways over the season.

Close to the best run differential in the division, yet 7.5 games out behind three other teams? Plus, everyone on the team with the exception of Cueto is having an average year at best.

Leadership or no leadership, that's the very definition of underachieving.

Yeah, we're all of the above and more.

Next time you do a poll try to make mutually exclusive categories.

By the ASB, he had set a pace nobody could hope to beat.

Anybody attempting to challenge him now will be like Votto trying to take Stubb's strike-out crown.

I went with underachievers but also it could be lack of leadership. But you need to remember last year the Reds were very lucky. Gomes, Arroyo, and Rolen had good years. Now this year look at them Rolen is having Shoulder problems and its affecting his hitting. Arroyo went from being one of the most reliable last year to now this year he's leading MLB in HR'S given up. And Gomes last year best year of his career to this year being traded and not being able to hit RHP. The team as a whole last year was hitting great with RISP to this year with only two guys Votto and Phillips hitting above .300 with RISP. Also The Reds came back in a lot of games and they didn't quit ever.

    Re: What are we..

This team overachieved last season and came back to earth this season.

Management believed last year's team was the real deal and sat on their butts in the offseason, not upgrading obvious weaknesses.

Because of the overachievement last season, management felt forced to reward an overrated manager, who continues to make poor strategical decisions, definitely costing this team 5 to 8 wins a season.

That is it in a nutshell.

Conceptually, I couldn't agree more. The Reds used up two years worth of luck last year, so they have none left for 2011. Only difference is that I'm not quite as down on Mr. Baker.
