If anyone wants a great up and coming singer to listen to..Try Allen Stone from Seattle Washington. This guy is just amazing
I get chills everytime I listen to him
Imelda May. I saw her on PBS with Jeff Beck. She is an Irish rockabilly/jazz/soul singer with a great voice & stage presence. Plus she writes her own songs.
Bump... finally listened to two CDs bought at Shake it Records (on Record Day) yesterday:
Johnnie Taylor - The Very Best of
23 tracks of classic Stax soul - Only knew (for sure) "Who's Making Love, but heard "Testify (I Wonna) on WDJO last month and decided to buy.
Donald Fagen - The Nightfly
I thought I bought a copy years ago but might have misplaced it. Anyway, still holds up pretty well. Good lazy Sunday album. Of course, the gem IMHO is still "New Frontier" with the video going off in my head.

Tossed in an old George Jones greatest hits CD this morning, as a tribute to his passing. That man had some pipes.
"I talked to an advance scout that told me if Joey Votto and Albert Pujols were on the same team he'd advise his team to do the unthinkable...pitch around Votto to get to Pujols." - Buster Olney, ESPN

I downloaded the new Bowie and Phoenix albums today but haven't had a chance to listen to them yet.
Revering for Blue will be happy to know I've been listening
to the Foo Fighters quite a bit recently.
This is amazing! I want to be a singing astronaught when I grow up:
I'm excited for the new Vampire Weekend album releasing tomorrow. You can get a sneak preview of three of the songs on their website.
"I can make all the stadiums rock."
Phoenix has been on repeat since it come out.
Vance Joy a little known Aussie singer and still pumping out a bit of Foals atm.
All kidding aside, all that matters is if one enjoys what he/she is listening to. Lots of good under-the-radar material throughout this thread.
As for yours truly, it's been mostly AAA material lately. On that end, I've heard nothing except good things about the Bowie and Phoenix albums.
"I have just been more than a little suspect of all the trades since the Willy (Scott Williamson) cash grab. That one left such a bad taste in my mouth that even a 1985 Dom Pérignon couldn't cleanse it." -- Creek14
