Morning song, at least four days a week.

I dug the early release single, 'Elephant', but Lonerism as a whole doesn't do as much for me. I prefer Unknown Mortal Orchestra's brand of neo-psychedelic:

I've been listening to a lot of Modest Mouse lately. Mostly "The Moon and Antartica"...far and away their best album.

I downloaded The Lone Bellow today. I don't know why I hadn't paid attention to them until now; maybe it just seemed there were too many folkies to get to, but this is excellent music, particularly for someone like me who feels himself getting older, yet wants to keep things fresh. I'm surprised at both the catchiness and the variety of the songs. The sound goes from Highway 101 (anybody remember them?) to Mumford to a touch of soul. All this with a bit of a classy country instrumental feel.
It is on the whole probable that we continually dream, but that consciousness makes such a noise that we do not hear it. Carl Jung.

The Lonesome Crowded West takes offense and fiercely disagrees!

Been listening to some Modest Mouse lately too (in a way). Jerry Joseph is one of my all-time favorites and I try to tune in to everything he does.

Lonesome Crowded West is a great album, but song-for-song I'll take Moon and Antarctica.

Full-length debut (?), Get Your Burdens Lifted, by a guy named Jesse Woods, out of Austin. Used to be a football player, now a singer-songwriter. I'm mad about this album. See no reason why this guy shouldn't be huge -- center enough for the mainstream, twangy enough to give it some bite.
