Between this and the new Cloud Nothings, Albini has been on fire as a producer this year.

The Milk Carton Kids. Fell in love with them a while back, forgot about them, recently rediscovered. Both their albums are available for free online, so go download and then see them play live:

Saw the David Mayfield Parade and the Avett Brothers last night. Fantastic show.

He was good but he's not terribly engaging on stage. Sometimes I think he'd prefer it if there wasn't an audience.
School's out. What did you expect?

Right now, I'm listening to Pandora and this particular channel is Delanie & Bonnie, a 1970's band that was "equal parts blue-eyed soul, blues, country, and gospel" as the description on this channel says. Comes up with blues, R&B - just a great channel.

Random trivia: Bonnie Bramlett played "Bonnie" on the sitcom "Roseanne."

St. Vincent was at Bogart's last week. Might've been the most electrifying performance I've ever seen live.

I hate to reduce her to just to the category of "girl musician" with this comparison, but I think it's one worth making... She's got enough talent I think to be one of the best of them in the last 20 years. Right up there with a Bjork or PJ Harvey.
