Parkay Quarts - Content Nausea; It's Parquet Courts with a new rhythm section (original bass player and drummer are taking care of a baby and attending school), sounds like a looser version of primary lineup.

The Wytches - Anabel Dream Reader; contemporary grunge from Brighton, England.

Just downloaded, and excited to listen to, Hookworms' "The Hum."

I'd guessed that autocorrect had struck again.

    Pavement-esque in their wordplay.

Just going to throw this out there, though I don't know that it's of any value, but maybe there are some Pavement fans out there that want to discuss nonsense with me.

Malkmus is obviously pretty good with wordplay, and especially so on the album "Brighten the Corners." It probably took me 100 listens before I heard a really clever turn of phrase on "Starlings of the Slipstream." Before they enter the second chorus (where in other parts of the song he sings "starlings of the slipstream"), Malkmus says he installed a spycam in a sorority. The following chorus repeats "darlings on the split screen, darlings on the split screen." While undoubtedly a bit creepy, the switch makes me smile each and every time I hear it.

Again, it's silly, but the little things are why I like Pavement ohsomuch. And for my money "Brighten the Corners" is probably their best album.

Definitely underrated. It's like all the weird elements pushed even further, but reined into this concise pop format. The idea of Malkmus sitting down with a guitar and pulling out Blue Hawaiian will confuse me forever.

That Parkay Quarts album is really good. Based on one album, I prefer the new lineup.

D'Angelo's long-awaited new release is fantastic. Cannot even begin to describe it. It's different, but sounds amazing.

    I love it. Very groovy.

This, also groovy baby, in a very different way:

Also digging Robert Plant's new release. It's a great collection, although I'm somewhat sad everytime I listen to it thinking "How effin' amazing would this be with Page and JPJ?"
