That is absolutely ATROCIOUS baserunning from Votto right there. He should have been half-way, or at least far enough off first to get to second. Completely fell asleep at the wheel. If he thinks he's tagging up there, he's crazy.
What would have been a bloop single turns into a FC at 2nd. Votto could not go until that dropped in at the last minute between 3 fielders. 1st and 3rd.
Atrocious is a bit much. If he is halfway and the outfielder charging catches it, Votto is doubled up. Should have been a few feet off the base, but don't think it would have mattered. That was tough luck.Originally Posted by Blitz Dorsey
