Re: Sandy Koufax named to UC HOF

I have no idea if one year at UC should be sufficient to warrant induction into its HOF (two years at Marshall were enough to gain Randy Moss induction into its HOF). Koufax was still a class act and I'm happy to see him inducted.
There was one error in the article though. Koufax did not win the Cy Young award three straight years from 1963 through 1965. He won the award in 1963, 1965 and 1966. Dean Chance of the American League Angels won the award in 1964, a year in whcih he went 20-9 with a 1.65 ERA. Had the award been given to a pitcher in each league as has been the case since 1967 then Koufax may have won four straight Cy Young awards, as his 1964 season was still great: 19-5 with a 1.74 ERA and 223 Ks in 223 innings.

Nice catch RB, I skimmed right over that.
