    Doubtful. There are only about two weeks left in the season and he only has about two weeks at the High A level. With neither Bakersfield or Carolina fighting for a playoff spot, there isn't a need to promote him.

    It has nothing to do with either of those things.

    If that were the case, the Reds simply would have dropped him from the 40 man. Instead, they cut him.

    Hm, never mind then. I'm not very good with the details of these transactions... any ideas as to why?
