    The Reds scored one run in the ninth inning on an obstruction play by Cardinals 2B Fernando Viña to tie the game at 2-2, prompting Cards' manager Tony LaRussa to play the game under protest. Reds RHP Danny Graves then allowed two runs in the top of the tenth, but Todd Walker and Kelly Stinnett responded with back-to-back homers in the bottom of the tenth to tie the game at 4-4. With one out in the bottom of the eleventh, Ken Griffey Jr. hit a sinking line drive to CF that caromed off Cardinals CF Jim Edmonds' foot to the warning track in LF for a game-ending inside-the-park homer.
