    Dusty Baker vs. Tony LaRussa

Alright, Sun Deck. You have two (2) choices as to your manager of the 2012 Cincinnati Reds. Dusty Baker or Tony LaRussa. Choose and discuss.

LaRussa would drive half the players on this team out of town. No, thanks.

LaRussa knows how to win and as long as you don't keep him over 6-8 years (he won't manage that much longer anyway) his message won't go stale like it has in STL.
Walt wouldn't allow TLR to come to CIN anyway.

Why get rid of Dusty? He can't sell lemonde?

I rather have Tony Orlando than Tony LaRussa. No contest.

Purely hypothetical, man. Most Reds fans hate both guys. Question is, which is the lesser of two evils? FWIW, I voted for Dusty. At least he's a likeable guy. LaRussa may be a better tactician, but voting for him would almost be akin to selling one's soul to the devil.

Is that why TLR had his defensive replacements batting in the ninth last week instead of Matt Holiday and Lance Berkman? Better tactician? TLR is the most overrated manager in the history of baseball. His "genius" disappeared when others started using stats and computers (not that Dusty uses either).
What if this is as good as it gets?

I would never want LaRussa to touch the Reds organization.

And Dusty Baker used to insist on having Edwin Encarnacion sacrifice bunt in "sacrifice" situations. He also PH for him a couple of times when the bases were loaded to play the lefty/righty matchup, despite Edwin's heroic numbers with the bases loaded. They've both pulled their fair share of boners. I despise LaRussa as much as anyone, but the guy does win consistently.

    Personality-wise, Dusty.
Managing a big league team, LaRussa.
