I'm shocked that Baker's hand let him write down three left handed hitters in a row

Speier had to fill out that lineup card.

Egomaniacle power play move from Musty Dangler. He wants to show the kid up, show Walt up, show the fans up...by starting this poor kid at a position in which he has never played a professional inning.

This stunt should get this complete loser of a manager fired.

The fact that Votto can't even volunteer to play an occasional game in left field only shows his character, or lack there-of.

This talented organization is a rudderless ship.

    What a shame.

You claim putting Yonder at 3rd is showing him up because he has never played a professional inning at the position and at the same time you want Votto the reining MVP to play a position he has never played in the majors.

But that would not be showing Votto up?

Yes Votto played left field in the minors but he was horrible at it, check the stats, Yonder has much better minor league numbers fielding LF than Votto does

    Votto .930 FPCT
    Yonder .993 FPCT

Votto also played 3rd in the minors, maybe he should 3rd in the majors too. His FPCT at 3rd was .830

What is your thought process, do you even have one?

It's pretty silly to assume Alonso hasn't been practicing for this moment. To think that Dusty just pulled one on everyone by starting him at 3rd is ridiculous.

I am FAR from a Dusty Baker fan but -- while I'm shocked he has him at 3B --- I want to see this experiment and am cautiously hopeful -- maybe he has looked more comfortable there than was expected -- if he can manage to hold the position down -- wow --- that makes this team a potential monster

I think we're just willing to try it for the reasons you listed. If it fails oh well, if it works that answers some questions about our future.

I hope he gets more than a 2 or 3 game chance -- I will admit he has looked -- shall we say uncomfortable in LF in the games I've seen him play --- patience with this guy is needed -- but not having him sit on the pine has to be the plan

I like it. Looking somewhat towards 2012. Of course this kinda contradicts the "let's finish strong" train of thought.

Now if this experiment only lasts a game or three then what is the point? How can anyone make a decision in three games? Oh, I mean aside from Dusty.
