    Reds @ Cards - SATURDAY - 9/3/2011

    CINCY (68-70) @ ST. LOUIS (73-65) @ 4:10 ET

    REDS LINE-UP
    ---------------
    B. PHILLIPS - 4
    E. RENTERIA - 6
    J. VOTTO - 3
    J. BRUCE - 9
    C. HEISEY - 7
    D. STUBBS - 8
    T. FRAZIER - 5
    R. HANIGAN - 2
    H. BAILEY (rhp) - 1

    vs.

    JAIME GARCIA (lhp) 10-7, 3.73 ERA, 132 K, 1.36 whip

    * Votto and Bruce are the only left-handed hitters in the line-up.
    * Garcia has a .292 BAA vs. lefties and .272 BAA vs. righties.
    * Garcia is 5-1 career against the Reds with a 3.38 ERA.
    * Homer Bailey is 1-0 in 1 start against the Cards this year allowing 1 run in 7.1 innings.

Garcia has really dominated the Reds. Hanigan is batting .333 against him, Stubbs is batting .286 everyone else (Renteria and Frazier never faced) is batting .200 or below (Bruce .077, Votto .143). It probably wouldn't have been a horrible day to give Votto off, but it is the Cards so I agree with Dusty's thinking.

Remembering the good old days, Fred Lewis is batting .667 against Garcia and Johnny Gomes is batting .308. Having said all that I expect the Reds to put up some runs today.

That will teach Alonso and Francisco a lesson. Getting all those hits, homers, runs scored and rbis.

LaRussa is out of the dugout already. Nice when Albert gets himself out like that.

Frazier gets another hit. He needs to watch that. His butt will be on the bench faster the Slidin' Billy Hamilton can steal second base.
