Yonder with four triples? Must been some big parks!

I was a bit worried about the hiting side fo the ledger coming into the season. I didn't see a lot of depth in the middle of the system behind the guys at L'Ville, but guys stepped up with some very solid performances, The "next generation" looks closer at the end of the season than it did at the beginning.

The MI spots are really starting to stack up with potential. One thing that hasn't been mentioned too much are the left-handed and switch-hitting guys. That could lead to some very nice balance in the future (at catcher too).

Pitching is by no means a wasteland, but as far as starters, I'd like to see them make a surge in the mid-levels in 2012 like we saw from hitters in 2011 (a breakout season for JC Sulbaran would be a great start). Overall, I was very happy with the system this year.

Kyle Waldrop with 9 is what gets my attention. That seems like an awful lot for a big kid who isn't yet 20. To me, his hitting has to be one of the more promising developments in the system this year.

    And of course, Soto's.

The other guy who made his mark as a hitting prospect is Donald Lutz. Power, average, and a lot of progress for a good athlete who grew up in Germany.

Torreyes' season was not all that surprising. Nor was Grandal's (which, by the way, was put together very quietly.) Phipps' was, of course, but it was so anomalous that he still has some convincing to do. No doubt, though, it represented progress to a substantial degree.

And for some reason, we all seem a bit reluctant to acknowledge what Eric Campbell accomplished. I guess we need to see him do it for a whole season at AA.

Henry Rodriguez can hit. That, we knew.
