    Dayton @ Lansing - GAME 3 - 9/10/11

Dayton will be handing the ball to Kyle Lotzkar. Looking for a big outing from the Dragons starting pitcher. 66.2IP 51H 32ER 25BB 72K 8HR.
    First pitch 7:05 ET.

A bad second inning for the Dragons. Duran missed a ball hit at his chest and Vidal threw away a bunt. It's 2-0 Lansing, and the Lugs have the bases loaded with one out.

Dragons avoided further trouble on a fly ball to center fielder Jefry Sierra, whose throw home nailed the runner from third.

Lansing leads 3-2 in the middle of the fifth. Dayton just scored two on some infield hits (speed has its advantages) and a double by Barnhart. Hamilton is 2-3.

Still down 4-3 in the middle of the seventh. Dayton had the bases loaded and no outs, but Torreyes bounced into a force out (one run scoring) and Barnhart grounded into a DP.

Dayton's fabulous season ends in a 4-3 defeat.

Sigh... well at least I got to see the lone playoff victory this year. Very good team (maybe the best all around in team's history) and deserved a better fate. Only bad thing about the first two rounds is its the best of three, and a hot team can make a run for it (tho' Lansing had the emotional momentum after last nights game as well IMHO). Will see how far they go.

The only good thing about Dayton being out of the playoffs is that those tickets won't cost me any more money (the team only charges home games played).
