Edinson Volquez gets another chance to shine. Harness that stuff, EV.

LOLOL. Stubbs back in the leadoff spot and I will bet you can't guess what he did to start the game off. That is right. Stubbs Ks. Yawn. 188. I am thinking after Arroyo got the club record for home runs allowed, Dusty has decided to go to the whip to get Stubbs enough PAs so he sets the all-time strike out record.
Renteria pops to second. Joey Votto's first look at Pomeranz. Flies to the warning track.

Edinson Volquez plus the first inning coming up.

Pitch number one from Volquez is very LaLooshish. Whoa! EV punches out the leadoff hitter. Nice to see. Walks the second man he faces on four pitches. Eek.

    No Helton.
    No Giambi.
    No Cargo.
    No Tulowitzki.

Volquez pitching against a AAA lineup.

Todd Frazier with a Rolen-like play on a dribbler at third. Two outs and a duck on the pond.
Bouncer back to the mound. A scoreless first.

Jay Bruce gets drilled by a horsehide spheroid.
4-6-3. Heisey's first GIDP of the season.
Razor bumps his value by adding a walk to his resume.
Frazier sends Wigginton to the wall. Close.

This stadium is a launching pad. Kouzmanoff flies out to the warning track. Wigginton whiffs. Heisey grabs a liner to left. Two innings in the book and we still have a scoreless contest.

Coco is coming back. At least it's looking that way. Per Fay.

Valaika gets the Reds off the old hit schneid. Ground single to left. EV nubs him along to second.

Interesting, the Dodgers are at .500 after being 14 games under on July 14. I remember Mattingly saying at one point that he had made every mistake you can make as a manager this year. I guess that is the difference between he a Dusty. Dusty did not learn from his mistakes.

I think the Reds need to let CoCo go.

Give Dusty some time. He has only been managing for about two decades or so.

Yeah - stuck in his ways. Not a good fit for this team.

Doesn't every small-market team with limited resources extend their 36-year old closer for big bucks?

Mattingly admitted he made mistakes too and he could have blamed a lot on circumstances.
