Strained right lat muscle for Cueto who will be checked again tomorrow. No idea if that is good bad or indifferent.

Interesting article on pulled lat muscles and pitchers. http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/mlb...don&id=6741647 Looks as if Cueto could well be out for the rest of the season. Generally, not a long-term injury.

Rough night for Brandon. Ks for the third time. ER retired on a flyball to right. Votto comes up emtpy against Kerry Wood.
    Masset will work the 8th.

Easy flyball to left. Heisey hauls it in. One Cub retired. Ramirez flies to relatively deep center. Stubbs makes the grab. Pena sits on three pitches. Masset had an easy inning. Wow.

Heisey leaves the park!!! #16. No way can he be a starter. His second hit on the night almost certainly pushes his OPS over the .800 mark. This guy sat and sat and sat some more as Jonny Gomes continued to be run out there. Dusty loves him some mohawk.

Stubbs grounds to second. Heisey OPS .803. Stubbs down to .691. It doesn't really matter. Once Dusty decides you can or cannot play, performance becomes irrelevant.

Another quick contest. Nice. I like it. Once both teams are out of contention, games can be played in 2.5 hours.

Francisco seems to be able to make all the plays at third. That is encouraging.
