I think I'll be even less likely to watch this game if that's possible

These sound stupid, just have a skills competition, or better yet can it.
Go Gators!
What a joke of a game. Just name an all-pro team and call it a day.

Viewership will double....to four.
There's really no saving that event. It's fundamentally flawed based on the nature of the game. However, I do give them credit for reaching out and trying to make it more fan friendly. Would not doubt that the fantasy draft gets higher ratings than a lot of other programming.
Rounding third and heading for home...
Just make it sandlot rules. No coaches, players draw up their own plays on the fly, with the clock running.
Wear gaudy colors, or avoid display. Lay a million eggs or give birth to one. The fittest shall survive, yet the unfit may live. Be like your ancestors or be different. We must repeat!

I haven't watched this game in probably 10 years, and with these rule changes, there is no way in H-E-double-hockey-sticks I'll watch it again.
This game just hit the proverbial "jumping of the shark." This is the Happy Days of football right here. What a complete joke they've just made this game -- and it already wasn't too appealing to begin with.
"No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference." ~Tommy Lasorda

Mark Schlereth voiced a great idea on the radio last night: He thinks they should play the game for $100K per man on the winning team. Losers get $0.
Now that would make it a real football game and more interesting. I'd still wait for the highlights however...
Everything that can be counted does not necessarily count; everything that counts cannot necessarily be counted.

I've heard stuff like this before and I find it mind boggling but true
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ing-it-around/But what’s really striking is the rating for the Pro Bowl, which drew 12.5 million viewers on NBC on January 29. Yes, that makes it the lowest-rated NFL broadcast of 2012, but that’s still an enormous TV audience. To put the ratings in perspective, the Pro Bowl drew more viewers than the Major League Baseball All-Star game, which is the highest-rated baseball game of the year so far. The Pro Bowl also got better ratings than any hockey game this year, better ratings than all of the NBA conference finals games except Game 7 between the Celtics and Heat, better ratings than the U.S. Olympic gymnastics trials, better ratings than the final round of the U.S. Open and better ratings than a great Sugar Bowl game between Michigan and Virginia Tech.
Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

I think you'll see regular season games eliminate kickoffs within the next 5-10 years.

"This isn’t stats vs scouts - this is stats and scouts working together, building an organization that blends the best of both worlds. This is the blueprint for how a baseball organization should be run. And, whether the baseball men of the 20th century like it or not, this is where baseball is going."---Dave Cameron, U.S.S. Mariner
