    AAA-stros @ Cincy - Tuesday - 9/20/2011

    Brandon Phillips 4
    Dave Sappelt 7
    Joey Votto 3
    Jay Bruce 9
    Juan Francisco 5
    Drew Stubbs 8
    Devin Mesoraco 2
    Paul Janish 6
    Homer Bailey 1
    Jay Bruce can't say he didn't get his shot at the cleanup spot.

    Bud Norris goes for Houston. A flyball pitcher. Those flies having been leaving the park at a above-average rate. He strikes out a lot of batters - 8.5/K9. And has a decent WHIP - 1.298. His xFIP is lower than Johnny Cueto's at 3.71. This should also tell you everything you need to know about xFIP. Reds have roughed him up to date. Slash line: .319/.431/.489/.920. He has never retired Paul Janish. No, I am serious. Paul Janish.
    He throws with his right hand and strikes out a lot of hitters so circle this date on your baseball calendar. Stubbs reaches the double-century mark in Ks tonight.

    Those guys tend to ramble on so in case you missed it. Tinkers to Evers to Chance, indeed. They didn't have anyone in right field back in the day, apparently.

    1st Base=who
    2nd Base=what
    3rd Base=i don't know
    Left Field=why
    Center Field=because
    Pitcher=tomorrow
    Catcher=today
    Shortstop=i don't give a darn

    He played hurt for six weeks. Why stop now? Dusty just wanted to get that "we are soooo banged up" excuse out there, since his team is tanking... umm what's the word....big-time? Yeah, that's it. His team is tanking big-time. But, like the man himself said, everyone is banged up at this time of year. The joke's on us.

    I'm big time depressed that Dumbsty will likely be back next year. Another year of the worst hitters batting 2nd and his ideas of what players hit certain pitchers well or not (regardless of what the stats say), not to mention his handling of the pitching staff. And more "big time" and "dealing" and "coming" and "he's got a lot to learn" and "we are on the verge."

    Ugh. Hooray for football! (No, I'm not a Bengals fan)

    It would be nice for Bailey to have a good start since we're winding down this season. Doesn't have to be lights out, just none of his breaks in concentration that happens too often.
