    Stubbs for Wandy?

Drew Stubbs for Wandy Rodriguez straight up?

Reds would have to be willing to take on payroll.

Tough call, doubt the Stros would do it, would have to add in someone like maybe LeCure or even Wood to get that deal done.

On players who have been around for a while you can, Stubbs has 2 seasons in the show so far. There is no way at this point to be able to tell what he can or can't do. If he can address his K issue which I don't see why he can't, he can be a very good CF for this team for the forecomeing future.

I would love to see these names --- the players that have struck out more than 200 times in a season that greatly improved in that category.
The older I get - the better I was

and yes - I hate the Cardinals (Reds fan since 1958)

    I miss Raisor

Stubbs is 2 1/2 years older than Bruce

The problem with Stubbs is two fold

They have someone the same age that puts up better numbers
He is worse this season than last

Get something for him that helps the team and play HI-C in center next season

Yonder will be in LF and Bruce in RF

Hi-C should get playing time over Stubbs, why waste Stubbs on the bench when you could get something that helps the team?

Stubbs is a flawed but young and talented CF. He plays above-average defense with outstanding range. He's got remarkable basepath speed with a decent amount of power in his bat. What's more, he's earning league minimum and is under contract for five more years. He may have taken a step back this season, but he still remains one of the more valuable assets on the team.

Meanwhile, Wandy is a MOR pitcher in an unfavorable contract situation. He's been consistent but unspectacular throughout his career, he's slightly more of a fly ball picher (not good in Cincy). We get him for 2 years at over 10 million dollars for each, tying up our budget even further in unwieldy contracts.

I'd still be enticed by a Wandy trade, but he's not worth Stubbs.

He's gotta be near 1200 ABs ... having said that, Wandy no way. There is a market for Stubbs. I don't think Stubbs will ever be a great player until he can fix his K problem, but at the beginning of the year he was highly touted. Everyone assumed he would get better. There still is a big market for "one of the best young prospects in the game" that I remember hearing in May.
