Interesting.
This could be monumental. A high amount of skepticism is necessary for the moment, though. The much more likely possibility is that the researchers made an error somewhere, which is why they're asking for other teams to independently reproduce their findings. However, I'd be lying if I said wasn't excited that the very foundation of physics (that nothing can travel faster than light) could be rocked to its core.
Here's another article regarding the discovery:
Roll over Einstein: Law of physics challenged
If this is true, I intend to start experiencing life backward.
Great Scott!!
Now we just have to figure out how to put a leather mule harness over one of those neutrinos and then hang on for dear life and survive the zero-to-faster-than the speed of light in in one quintillionth of a second. Yikes.

Sweet, can't wait till they can "go plaid"
I knew that Einstein was an idiot.

It's been a while for me since Physics classes, and the relationship between space + time has always boggled my brain a bit.
Does this confirm time travel as a theoretical possibility, or am I not understanding this?
"I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road." Stephen Hawking
This is all true but still, traveling at or just a tad faster than the speed of light is not only slow (relatively speaking in terms of space travel) it is just unwieldy because of the issue of time differential. Even if we could devise a way to work around mass becoming infinitely heavy at the speed of light, it would still be a limiting way of travel. Warp speed and wormholes are the way to go!
Sorry to crush everyone's scifi dream
Big Deal! Obviously some of you have never ridden with my wife.
But it won't be long now
That's really going to hurt the auto industry too.

Well, folks, Mystery Solved.
Relativity is safe, for now.
Those weird faster-than-light neutrinos that CERN thought they saw last month may have just gotten slowed down to a speed that'll keep them from completely destroying physics as we know it. In an ironic twist, the very theory that these neutrinos would have disproved may explain exactly what happened.
