    Clint Barmes as our veteran SS.

    In terms of adding a reliver, you could do a lot worse than bringing back Matt Belisle -- who finally turned in to the solid pitcher I always touted him as.
    Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

    I've had the same thought. Not sure he'd be willing to sit almost full-time though. Jamey Carroll might be more willing to do that.

    Possibly. But I've heard Jocketty say Cozart is likely the guy. I doubt he'd backtrack and make it a wide open competition. I think they'll end up with someone a step down from Barmes, though I think he'd be a great add.
