Conversely, the Orioles finished last in the AL East for the fourth consecutive year
It's good not to be last. It's like almost being the king.

If ya ain't 1st, YOU'RE LAST!
Does this make us the best of the not-best...or best of the worst?
It just means that this franchise isn't ready to get itself together and turn itself around because it hasn't hit rock bottom yet.
