Sadly, Cliff Lee has some explaining to do as well.

Maybe Carpenter should have a sit-down with his boy and tell him that, frankly, dad's not really that good.

    And he whines.

He's probably still busy explaining to his son how the cards are in the playoffs while tredheads had a losing record and are home watching them.

the reds (gotta love auto correct)... I doubt Chris Carpenter's son spends a great deal of time thinking about baseball in the PNW.

I think what Carpenter did was admirable (as admirable as it can be coming for a Cardinal, especially him). I actually think that TLR may have made a huge mistake with starting Carpenter, a series changing mistake, even thought they won.

The Cards did end up winning the game but they burned their best pitcher probably for the rest of the series, as well as burning up their pen. The TBS broadcast kept referencing Smoltz saying that it isn't the start on 3 days rest, its the start after that (game 5). It was a huge risk, a risk that really didn't end up paying off, and a risk that may have changed the series.

That's okay, we'd rather see the team build for the future than win now...apparently. Winning has to be sustainable...apparently.
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!

When did the Brewers get ousted? Surely not this year
