Yes. They might do it. Although Carpenter is pitching and he wasn't so good in game 1.

    Carpenter vs. Halladay right?

I hate me some Carpenter but he can clutch up in big games. I'll still take Hallday at home though.

Either way, I don't like either team at all. I'm rooting for the winner of the Dbacks/Brewers series to come out of the National League.

I think the Reds fans worst nightmare already happened over 162 games, but I am rooting for the Phillies so it will stink if the Cardinals win lol.

If the Phillies lose they are going to need to close some of the bridges around here.

It will probably be one of the most disappointing postseasons in the history of Philly sports and we have had a lot of them with the Sixers losing heartbreakers to the Celtics.

The Cards stand a good chance with the momentum they have right now. It will be a good game, maybe a squirell or 2 will show up

I sure hope not. I am sick of hearing about stupid squirrels and all these Card fans that stopped rooting for them a month ago and are now back on the train!!!

Oh cheese and rice Philadelphia! Can you choke anymore? Letting Carpenter the punk single? and then Furcal on an error?

Nothing pleases me more than see the big spending Yankees, Phillies and Red Sox lose. A East Coast $$$high roller$$$ sweep.

Phillies are a example of overspending on pitching to the point it became a detriment to the rest of the team. Biggest bust in the last decade.

This is a good lessen for Reds fans. When you adjust for park, the Reds offense was fringe top 10 this year.

Certainly puts a dent in the prestige of both the AL and NL East conferences: Yankees, Rays and Phillies go down in the first round and the Braves couldn't even get into the post-season.

But what can you say? Winning means a lot to that organization. They work to improve their roster in the winter and during the season. Our Redlegs perpetually rest on their laurels.

    STL = can-do organization

I'm going to brush my teeth and drink a gallon of Listerine now.
Rounding third and heading for home...

The trouble is, they didn't work overly hard at "improving" their roster much this offseason. They got hot during the end of the year and nothing more. A generation ago in the 2 division alignment, they would be a afterthought.

One way to "even" it out would be for the LDS to go 7. That would give the teams with more overall talent, a bump.

I agree totally. Well I do hate Listerine.

What is ESPN, TBS, TNT, FOX and MLB going to do with a total Midwest CS and WS? I personally love it. Way to hit them in the wallet small market teams with grit, guts and character.

Now the Yankees can take on the Phillies in the "overpaid" championship. The winner gets to play the Red Sox.
