Sandusky was at Dick's Sporting Goods yesterday just doing a little shopping. He was in full Penn State attire.

Lets see, in the last 24 hours, I just ruined my life, my long time friend Joe Paterno's career and possibly destroyed Penn State's football program beyond repair.....But Hey!! Let's go shopping!!!

You really do have to think about the motivation for founding the Second Mile Foundation. You know Sandusky didn't just wake up one day in 1998 and decide he was going to molest a boy. What better way to control the subjects of your abuse than create a charity that would let you target disadvantaged youth with backgrounds that might make them less likely to bring public accusations?

Yeah the more I find out about this the more I think a lot of the administration and coaching staff knew. Like that lady in the interview said, it feels like a big family that is trying to protect one of their own.

I mentioned this a few pages back, but, if you don't know anything about the people involved, if you don't pay any attention to college football and they're just somewhat familiar names of strangers, you really don't have to think at all. His motivation for starting Second Mile is the first thing about the whole story that jumps out and smacks you in the face.

For all the people involved in this nobody looks worse than this guy. He was an eye witness and did nothing. If you are worried about the image of the school you cannot keep this guy on under any circumstances.

The only thing I will say, is if this does turn out to be a massive cover up where everybody did know what was going on, this is the guy that could make it really blow up by saying "I told everybody, every last detail and they did nothing." You keep this guy on the payroll, you can keep his mouth shut till you get things worked out.

I hope that's not the case but with all the crazy stuff surrounding this nothing surprises me.

Exactly, keeping that guy around seems like a favor someone is doing, it stinks.

Should we read anything into the fact that Paterno, who by all accounts was said to be a cooperating witness to the Grand Jury, and Graham Spanier have been fired, while Tim Curley, who has been charged with perjury, was placed on administrative leave and is having his legal defense paid for by PSU, and Gary Schultz, also charged with perjury, was allowed to retire from his interim job and the school is also covering his legal defense fees.

Meanwhile, Paterno is seeking his own legal counsel: http://openchannel.msnbc.msn.com/_ne...tells-nbc-news

The whole thing is fishy. Down to every last detail.

This is going to get so, so much worse before it gets even remotely better. I'm legitimately fearful of how much we're going to learn, because I'm afraid it's going to be absolutely horrifying - even more than it already is.

There are rumors floating around already that we haven't even heard the bad stuff yet, which is incredibly scary considering what we have heard.

Alleged Victims' Lawyer: Penn State Board Made Wrong Call By Firing Joe Paterno

The board of trustees got it wrong. They should have consulted the victims before making a decision on Mr. Paterno...They should have considered these victims watch TV and are aware of the students' reaction and may not want to be associated with the downfall of Mr. Paterno. The school instead elected to do what it felt was in its own best interest at the time. Isnít that what put the school in this position in the first place?"

Andreozzi's statement backed up those in State College and elsewhere who have chosen the Penn State Board of Trustees as the newest villain in a sickeningly sordid affair.

"The way the Board reached its decision raises more concerns than the decision itself. There is no indication the Board considered the impact of the decision on the abuse victims. The school let the victims down once, and I think they owed it to the victims to at least gauge how the immediate termination decision would impact them as opposed to Mr. Paterno's resignation at the end of the year. These victims do not live in a bubble. They see the students reaction to the termination, and to think this does not weigh on their minds would be naive."

Say what you want about Paterno but consulting with the victims and their representatives does make sense to me.

Ya know Penn State, I realize that this is a very unique situation but I'm pretty sure that there are people that specialize in what to do in these types of situations. Maybe, just maybe, you should call one.
"Now that's a real shame when folks be throwin' away a perfectly good white boy like that."
