Liga paralela -- Yorman back in action

It's a relief to see Yorman is back playing. He's playing for Magallanes -- as he has in past winters -- in the "minors" version of the Venezuelan Winter League.

5 for 11 so far. Would be very nice to see him put up numbers in a league he should do well in.

You can check out the league at http://www.ligaparalela.com.ve/HTML/2011/

A few other young Venezuelan Reds sprinkled around the league, too.

Didn't even know there was a minors version of the Venezuelan winter league.

Well, since I started this thread Yorman has managed to play 1 game. He has missed the last 4 games or so.

Kid has a hard time staying in the lineup, for whatever reason.

    Juan Francisco .321/.387/.457/.844
    Dennis Phipps .297/.403/.436/.839

Lastings Milledge ripping it up in Venezuela - .328/.407/.544/.951. He will only be 27 next season.

Neftali Soto getting worked in Puerto Rico - .183/.246/.217/.463. Zero home runs in 60 AB. He would be looking up at Paul Janish with these numbers.

A summer watching a bad Reds' team, is still a pretty good summer.
