    It is Barry's year.

I don't see anyone else going in.

Jack Morris and Lee Smith were next in voting but they were well below the needed 75%.

I don't know. Tony Womack may be hard for to keep off the ballot.

This should be Larkin's year. With McGuire,Palmeiro and probably Bagwell being denied because of steriod use Larkin should easily make it in this year.

A lot of names from the 80s & 90s when I grew up loving baseball. Quite a few of those guys were among the best of the best, or so I thought, and I probably thought at one time that they would easily be in the HOF. Andre Dawson was another in that category and he made it.

That list kind of makes me feel old, or at least wistful for the "good old days' when I was big into baseball cards and boxcores.

I think Larkin is the only one with a chance this year.

I'm hoping Alan Trammell gets some love. The guy was criminally underrated and overshadowed due to playing in a power-light era that transitioned in to the golden age for SS's.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I really hope this is Barry's year!

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

    Two points.
    1. I think Larkin does get in this year; IMHO--of course, somewhat biased--he's the best player on this fairly strong list.

    2. I agree about Trammell, though I'm not quite sure he's Hall worthy. My theory is he has suffered from what I call the too obvious comp syndrome. He's so comparable to Concepcion that I think it hurts both: some who might think AT should get in don't vote for him because it would mean they'd also have to vote for DC (whose career they may just not know as well) and vice versa. As a result, they vote for neither. Similar problem, IMO, is what has hurt Santo and Boyer, arguably the two best eligible players not in the Hall.

Edgar Martinez? How is he even close to hall worthy?

When did Bagwell start getting linked to steroids? I'd never seen or heard anything while he was playing. Unless it's just rumors. Based on numbers and watching him for years, he should be a shoo-in.

    As should Larkin of course.
    2014 predictions:
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner
    Hamilton ROY & GG

I am not sold on Edgar Martinez but this stuff makes an interesting case.

He at the very least should be given strong consideration.
