Mat Latos is the kind of guy you target. He is a difference maker. Still want to see what else we traded, but this is the guy you want to make a deal for.
And he'll be under our control for quite some time.
The devil will be in the details. A good trade if Alonso is the main piece heading to San Diego.

Love Latos, although he has maturity issues from what I remember and if he stays calm on the mound (a big if) he dominates.
Always liked Alonso and really sad he's gone, although we all knew he'd be traded from the day he was drafted. There have questions about his power, but I think we all know his power will just be average now in Petco, but he's going to be a doubles MACHINE out there.

If true, pretty steep price.In addition to Alonso, it will be Grandal, Boxberger, and much maligned starter Edinson Volquez, per source.
