A few interesting things from Zips projections

They have 3 of our top 4 players being guys added this year via ERA / OPS +
    Votto 148, Marshall 147, Madson 132, Latos 119
    Next in line
    Bruce 116, Bray 116, Massett 111, Cueto 110.

Brandon Phillips projection v Henry Rodriguez
    R 2B 31 .279 .331 .436 OPS+ 104
    B 2B 22 .279 .315 .393 OPS+ 89

If these projections held - trading Phillips for prospects / promoting Rodriguez and signing Oswalt would save money, gain prospects and add wins.

Needs some AB's above AA ball to even consider.

I've always thought signing Brandon Phillips long term was bat sh*t crazy

I think a contract for phillips for 3 years with two club options after that would be a good deal for the reds as well as brandon but those stats i question. I see projections as having a very slim chance of actually happening

You just cannot overpay for Brandon Phillips, he's not ever approached his 30/30 Days and this team just simply can't pay him the Dan Uggla type Money he is seeking...

I say Trade him for a younger version and more pitching... He's no Ian Kinsler.

Personally i think kinsler has always been over rated. Never has he hit .300, he's hit with power but doesnt have the speed. I think phillips is the best guy at 2nd in the nl and 3rd best in baseball behind cano and pedoria. If they could get the ackley i'd take it though.
