No chance Rhinhart makes the club out of camp. He probably won't even get a Spring Training invite. He didn't last year and I don't see that changing.

He had a nice year, and he's the very definition of depth. Minor league lifer, plays the game the right way, blada blada. He's entering his prime age years, and I expect he'll be at AAA somewhere. I hope it's Louisville. Seems like a late bloomer. He'll end up with a few seasons on a 25 man roster I think.

I agree with all that. If he has a monster season in Louisville/Pensacola, he could eventually be a right fielder for a team (he has a cannon.)

I determined in this thread http://www.redszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93562

that the Reds are at about $90-$91M for next year with all their transactions and pay increases for certain players.

I think it is pretty clear they are done. I don't think they can afford Theriot.

For this reason, I see them going with Frazier and Francisco as the final infield/outfield options.

Vottomatic, I think Cot's does not account for the deferred salaries of Rolen and Arroyo, which may be as much as 7-8 million combined, I'm not sure. Others may have deferals as well, for example, Madson is 6.5 this year with a 2 mil buyout next year I think. So that's another 2 million not on this year's books. At this point, it seems to me only the Reds know what their true payroll is with all the previous year's deferrals and what not. However, I do believe it's between 80 and 90 million at this point with or without deferrals.
