If Coco is willing to swallow his pride and pitch the 7th I'd be thrilled to see him in a Reds uniform next year.

I'll take the pick and the fond memories. He'd look just fine in an Angels uni.

I honestly don't see there being room for him. They've got Madson, Massett, Marshall (whom I suppose I'll dub MP3 for now), Bray, Arredondo, LeCure and Ondrusek. I am pretty satisfied with that group.

Cco wouoldn't sign for anything less that $5M (if not higher). I'm quite OK with our setups and MRs as is. I'd much rather direct that money (if it exists) toward LF.

That may change if he is sitting without a job in a few months. Stranger things have happened. I honestly don't expect to see him back, though.

I was thinking of 3M, cause they clean up late in the game.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Cincinnati Bengals - None
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

IMHO re-signing Cordero would be a waste of both payflex and a roster spot.

I think Madson pretty much seals the deal that Coco will not be back regardless, unless he gets absolutely no interest until Spring Training and we have an injury or two. He won't sign to come back and be a 7th inning guy.

I expect a team like the Dodgers or Angels to come in with a "reasonable" offer and a chance to win the closer role out of Spring Training and get Cordero's services.

I hope Cordero doesn't return for the simple reason that I think the Reds should collect as many early draft picks as possible. After all the trading of prospects, they really need to restock.

Agreed, and I cannot imagine him being effective pitching in the 7th or 8th innings. Being a closer most all of his career, pitching on adrenaline is likely a huge importance to him.
