Barring injury it will be Johnny Cueto vs Mark Buehrle on Thursday, April 5. Hopefully Cueto continues his ascent as a top of the rotation starter.
Is josh Johnson going to be healthy for the opening series?

Will be Cueto, should be Latos.
I think Josh Johnson will get the start over Buherle. Johnson vs. Cueto, and Cueto should get the start. Latos hasn't done anything for the Reds and Cueto should be rewarded for last year as long as he makes it through spring training healthy. it doesnt matter anyways. Opening Day is the only game where we need a #1 starter until we get to the playoffs.
Nah, it should be Cueto. I think Latos is the better pitcher but Cueto earned it for his performance last season. Latos will probably be the OD starter in '13.Originally Posted by [deleted]

It should be Cueto. And it shouldn't even be a question. In Cincinnati you have to earn the start.

The people who are predicting Marlin pitchers, you guys do realize that we will be facing their number 2 guy on Opening Day, don't you? The Marlins and Cardinals play in Miami on the 4th.

The Marlins are opening a new ballpark this season so I'm certain that the Cardinals game on the 4th has everything to do with showcasing the new palace to the entire world.
You mean the 67 fans that actually show up for Marlins games? I agree thats why it is being done, but does anyone really care?

I was thinking the exact same thing. You can't spell Miami without MIA. And by the second week of the season that's what Miami fans will be. They don't even care about that team. Why would the rest of the country?
Also feel Cueto has earned opening day start.
