Man, that is not going to end well. This reminds me A LOT of Griffey coming to Cincinnati. He's going back to the town where his dad became a hero, and he has even more accolades thus far than Cecil had. I have a feeling he'll be loved dearly until he crosses into his mid-30s and presumably his size begins to creep up on him. Those kinds of darlings fall hard in their later years when they amount to not much more than empty cash.
I realize I'm being incredibly harsh. I like Prince, loved Cecil. I pull for the Tigers in the AL every year. I just wonder how long it's going to take before teams stop handing out these crippling contracts to players who most likely aren't going to be able to fulfill them. Or at least frontload them so as to make these guys easier to trade when their skills no longer warrant a $28 million salary.
All that said, my sincerest congratulations to both Prince and Pujols on their moves to the American League. I think I speak for everyone here when I say we will not miss you one bit in the Central.
wow. thats all i got right now
UNC Tar Heels 2017 National Champions 6 time NCAA Champs!!!

Well, if the tigers lose the division in the next two years the entire front office is gone.
To bad he didn't go to the Cubs to decimate their payroll for the next 9 years..........
Bring on 2018! #%?*!
There's no way this ends well for Detroit. Too much for too long for sure.
Congratulations Reds fans, you now have (probably have had since Dec. 8th) the best 1B in the NL - Walt better figure out how to keep him.
now Votto might able to finally start an All Star Game lol
There are 3 guarantees in life; death, taxes, and the leadoff walk coming around to score.
Well I don't look at this season but next when they have the middle of the line up that contains Miguel Carbera, Prince, and V-Mart coming back off the torn ACL they'll need Miguel to play either 3rd or Lf with Prince at 1B and V-Mart at DH since Ovila has emerged as such a strong catcher.
Olney's take on what the Prince/Pujols signings mean for Votto and Reds

I didn't think Votto was sticking around once he hit the market anyway. So, in essence, this signing meant little. It may have 'sealed the deal' so to speak. But I think Votto's leaving was pretty much a foregone conclusion. I would love to be wrong about this one.
I agree with you dave. Even though I found none of the information to be new, I thought it fit in with the thread.
