Confusing regarding Reds Opening Day tix

OK, last year I grabbed the "Yankee Power Pack" package the Reds offered, which included Opening Day tickets. This year, there is nothing of the like. I believe, as of right now, you have to purchase at least a 43 game package which includes Opening Day.

Does anyone know the best way to get tickets for this year?? Sucks they are not released stand alone anymore.

*title should state "Confusion", not "Confusing". Whoops.

I am looking specifically for Opening Day. It's a shame you have to buy a whole package of tickets in order to get tickets for Opening Day. I remember in the past you could get Opening Day tix as a stand alone game (as long as you didn't mind waiting in a loooong line)

E-Bay and Stub Hub are your friends. I've been to 5/7 opening days because of it. :-) Now, you can't be afraid to pay a premium for it though.

Hey RedlegsFan - A few years ago, the Reds stopped doing the "long line" Opening Day routine, opting for an online lottery system. I know because I used to be one of the ones who would camp out for them annually.

Through the sixteenth, you can register for the lottery (with no commitment to buy if your name is called) at https://secure.mlb.com/cin/ticketing/opening_day.jsp

Other than that, there are no Opening Day ticket packages to my knowledge other than the 40, 43 or full season options. As others have pointed out, you can go to a StubHub or something to purchase them with less hoops to jump through, but will pay a premium.

These days, I usually just get all my friends and family to register for the lottery. That way if someone gets called and can't go, you at least have a guaranteed way to buy tickets. It's worked for me the last two years and is kind of a fun little adventure.

Not disagreeing with you, necessarily, but are you sure about that this season? According to the Reds website, that is not the case.

Just wondering if the information online isn't necessarily correct. The articles in the local paper corroborated it, but maybe they were basing that off the information provided online as well?

100% sure. The letter came in the mail on Friday with a login and password to buy Opening Day tickets on Feb 15th.

Also, that chart has always looked like that. "2011 Opening Day ticket included on plan" means they don't cost any extra. The tickets aren't included in the price that I already paid, but I am guaranteed the opportunity to buy them.

Nice! I moved up to Dayton in the past year so I've been trying to weigh whether I wanted to do the 13 or 20 for starters this year. That might sway me in the 20 direction.

Not Opeing Day related - but does anyone know if PNC is having a Reds single game ticket pre-sale similar to last year? If anyone has the info or a link I'd appreciate it.

Haha agreed! I spent the big $ to go to opening day, and honestly I don't get the big attraction. It's exciting that the season is back, but a lot of the fans that sat around me weren't even watching the game, they were just going because it's a big "event" or something. I think i'm going to buy the 13 game Saturday package instead to guarantee a shot at playoff tickets, you get all the bobblehead games that way too, and i'm hoping to be using several of those playoff tickets this year.

I have been to one opening day and I just don't get it. I would much rather go to the second or third game and not have to fight the crowd. I remember we had to pay like $30 to park and had to walk 2 miles to the park. I was so disappointed.
I was in the ORG once, best 6 months of my life.
