It is fairly impossible to accurately distinguish #33 from #36--or, for that matter, maybe even number #17 from #39. That's almost by definition. But I still believe there's purpose and value to going deep with this thing. For one, it brings players to the general attention. And two, it provides a frame of reference for following these guys through the season.
Personally, I just like to see guys hit the list. When it's winding down each year, I always find myself wishing that so-and-so and so-and-and-so would win a spot. Just for the acknowledgment and recognition. This year, we'll probably be leaving out the likes of Brandon Dailey, Mitch Clarke, Alejandro Chacin, Dayne Read, Mace Thurman, Jacob Johnson, Luis Gonzalez, Eliezer Beard, Chris Manno, James Allen, Clayton Tanner and Dominic D'Anna. I, for one, would enjoy voting for some of those guys.
