What if I told you there were books of non-fiction with stories both beautiful and...

sorrowful enough to make you laugh and cry in equal measure?

Would you want to read such a saga?

Even if it encompassed thousands of pages?

If characters you came to cherish were ultimately sacrificed to tell the tale whole?

Can you guess the work I am teasing?

I have returned after many years away, and I find these stories even more passionately told than when I left them.

I was teasing George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire.

I haven't read them since college, and lost steam midway through the third book...

Well, I got to the "Red Wedding" last night...

The image of Grey Wind snarling and doing everything in his power to avoid going into the Twins because he knows what awaits them within is some powerful stuff.

EDIT: Whoops sorry bout the title, meant fiction of course.

Bit of a spoiler, isn't it? Also, there is already thread on this, which is titled with the actual name of the series, so if people want to avoid being spoiled they can avoid it.

not sure if that's directed at me. obviously it's not really a big deal if some books are spoiled, but i know a lot of people are trying to avoid spoilers since it's an hbo show now.
